Huaka’i Chef Series: Sunny Jin

Sunny Jin is the general manager of food and beverage at The Resort, with a rich background in some of the world’s premier restaurants, including The French Laundry in Napa Valley, El Bulli in Catalonia, and Tetsuya’s in Australia. Educated at the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon, where he won the top award, Jin excelled under chefs like Thomas Keller and Tetsuya Wakuda. After global experiences, he returned to the American Northwest, embracing a philosophy of local and sustainable cooking. Jin focuses on local ingredients and building community connections, showcasing his culinary expertise through innovative, regionally inspired dishes.
